Transportation analytics startup Drive Spotter will join the 2016 class of Techstars Mobility in Detriot, Michigan. The announcement follows Drive Spotter’s close of a $750,000 seed round in March.

Founded in the 2015, Drive Spotter offers a real-time video search engine for commerical fleet managers, vehicle manufacturers and insurance companies. According to their press release, their mission is to build “the world’s leading video search engine.”

Co-founder and President Chris Augeri looking forward to the opportunity for partnerships with industry leaders.

“The access to vehicle manufacturers in Detroit, similar to the high-level access we had to the insurance industry in Des Moines, is the primary benefit,” said Augeri.

The program offers connections with companies like Ford, Verizon, McDonald’s and Michelin.

The company is a graduate of the Global Insurance Accelerator in Des Moines and has had offices at Gravitate in Des Moines and The AIM Exchange in Omaha.

According to Augeri, the company received interest from the program when they were chosen as a “New Startup of the Year” finalist at the Silicon Prairie Awards last year.

The Techstars program begins on June 13th and ends with a public demo day on September 8th.

“It’s an open invitation for anyone on the Prairie to come and join us,” said Augeri. “I know there’s a contingent of folks already planning to come.”

The Drive Spotter team will maintain their Omaha office during the program, and they intend to return to the region on completion of the program.

“We’ve been staunch advocates for pulling the Silicon Prairie together,” said Augeri. “For us, this is a community success story.”

Update: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Drive Spotter participated in Straight Shot.

Are they really graduates of Straight Shot? I was surprised to read that and just checking now I don’t see them listed on Straight Shot’s portfolio page.
