Delivering the next generation of software for our customers.

Defining what’s next isn’t just a slick tagline for us. We know that to keep delivering the products and services our customers have come to expect, we must stay ahead of the technology curve. That means continually modernizing our decades of expertise and solving problems from a fresh perspective. And, there’s no shortage of technical expertise or fresh perspectives at TEAM.

Whether it’s data architects working on the Azure Data Lake or software developers working on our next generation of workforce management software, our employee owners have a direct impact on the future of our business and our customers’ success.

“We innovate because we care about our customers and our company,” said Brian Cary, Senior Software Developer at TEAM. “We foster an environment of employee ownership, working toward the goal of keeping our customers first and making them successful.”

We’ve been innovators in the software space for building service and security contractors since 1989. Technology constantly evolves, and one of the ways we stay on the forefront is by continually anticipating customer needs. We changed the game in 1988 with an all-in-one financial, operations and workforce management solution. We did it again in 2001 with our Software-as-a-Service offering before “the cloud” was common. And, we’re doing it again with our newest products that focus on data and leverage the latest server-less technologies.

“We’re defining patterns that don’t exist and leveraging technologies to answer questions our customers don’t even know to ask yet,” explained Steven Williams, Senior Software Developer at TEAM. “No one has built anything like this, and we are using it to help our customers set themselves up for continued success.”

These advances allow us to focus on the things that provide value to our customers instead of on busywork and manual processes.

“Using the server-less consumption model is one of the most exciting things I’ve ever had a chance to work with,” added Cary. “You don’t have to worry about setting up a server or what server your code is running on. Instead, you get to focus your attention on the code itself.”

For Sarah Riley, Data Architect at TEAM, she sees innovation as a way to move customers away from being data rich but information poor. Through data, we can give customers clear paths for action.

“We see companies who are drowning in data but not gaining any real insight from it. So that’s where we come in to sift through the data to solve problems and then deliver the answers to them in the palm of their hand. We can turn a sea of data into actionable insights and solve operational issues for our customers,” said Riley.

In addition to an unwavering focus on the company’s core values to keep customers first, be accountable and do more, the ability to pursue new projects, opportunities and ideas is what underscores the culture of innovation at TEAM.

“We have incredible technical talent at this company, and we are given the freedom we need to excel. TEAM values us as individuals, not just as technologists. I’ve never had the opportunity to work on anything of the scale of what we’re doing at TEAM before coming here,” added Riley.

We’re not silo-ing all that knowledge, though. One way TEAM employee owners are sharing their expertise is by participating in events like the Heartland Developers Conference (HDC). Riley and Williams will be presenting at a breakout session during HDC on scalable data processing using the Azure Data Lake and U-SQL.

“These are advances that are going to set the stage for data processing moving forward,” said Williams. “By moving to data lake technologies that are server-less, we can focus on more value-added activities instead of worrying about getting approval for additional servers and the time it takes to set them up.”

Whether it’s modernizing our products and platforms; updating our mission, vision and values; or refreshing our brand with a new logo, we continue to be committed to providing our customers value now – and in the future. We are focused on moving forward, and we’re taking our 30 years of experience with us as we continue to define what’s next.
