Here at SPN, we are thankful for the building that is taking place here in the Silicon Prairie.  We want to highlight some of the companies that provide great examples of these entrepreneurial efforts, for your discussion with family and friends this Thanksgiving.

Team Software – Team Software is the premier provider of software to the building services and security industries. The company provides a robust, cloud-based ERP system (WinTeam) that is used by customers to manage their entire operation. They recently received a private equity investment from Accel-KKR.

ACI Worldwide – ACI Worldwide is the grizzled veteran of this list, as this company has been around since the early 1980s. It was one of the first software products for ATMs in the world. The company has grown to include multiple lines of financial products, and it is the primary ancestor of many of the region’s fintech software companies – such as FTNi and D3 Banking.

Buildertrend – This is a great example of a bootstrapped company that has succeeded wildly. Buildertrend just opened a new office in Omaha with more than 300 employees. The company has developed construction management software for homebuilders and rehabilitation/remodelers. It is cloud-based and one of the premier Google Cloud Services companies in the world.

Flywheel – Recently announcing a move to North Downtown Omaha, Flywheel provides the premier hosting environment for designers and creatives that build WordPress websites.

Hudl – Hudl is a SaaS platform that helps athletes and coaches convey information to each other. They have HUGE film libraries regarding virtually every sport in the world. Beehive Industries – Beehive Industries provides medium and small cities with asset management tools for their physical infrastructure. The company has customers around the country and is located in Lincoln’s Haymarket.

Opendorse – Opendorse provides athletes and organizations tied to athletes with software that helps each maximize their revenue from social. The company moved into a new HQ three months ago in downtown Lincoln.

Quantified Ag – This is the only hardware/software product on this list. The company uses sensors carried on livestock to identify unhealthy animals. Using software and other tools, livestock producers can improve the overall health of their herds.

LifeLoop – LifeLoop integrates the senior living journey for families and facilities by providing powerful tools that aid the communication loop. The company was the recipient of the Rise of the Rest funding award during that entity’s tour stop in 2016.

Travefy – Travefy is a powerful tool for managing in-trip content, itineraries, and other travel related communication. The company currently powers more than two million customer itineraries.

From executive rounding to individual floor rounding, the company provides hospitals with a tool to monitor activity throughout their buildings and personnel.

Now you have something other than politics to talk about while you enjoy your turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!
