Technology Association of Iowa 2019 Prometheus Awards winners have been named.
The Prometheus Awards took place last night in downtown Des Moines at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center. It is the biggest event of the year for the TAI, a statewide membership organization that promotes and celebrates the technology industry in Iowa. The sold-out event welcomed guests to the venue in the same manner as other popular awards banquets – with a red carpet.
In fact, the format for the event was very similar to the format for the Oscars with some obvious differences. Torches were handed out as awards and there was a distinct lack of movie stars. The nominee videos were a highlight of the evening and very well done. The energy in the room was high as evidenced by cheers from company employees each time the presenters mentioned them by name. The event was a sellout and a strong reflection of a developing tech ecosystem across multiple communities in Iowa.
Several companies and individuals were nominated across multiple categories of awards. The list of winners includes Dwolla, Renewable energy Group, Vermeer Corporation, Scientific Games, Performance Livestock Analytics, and many others.
