AgBoost®, a cloud-based data analytics company from Oklahoma City, is revolutionizing cattle management.

Cattle producers now have access to a web-based tool that enables them to manage their herds and make management decisions supported by beef genomics.  AgBoost® has secured $120,000 in early stage funding to accelerate growth.

The powerful platform was developed and underwent beta-testing where it received support from cattle producers, research institutions and the cattle industry, according to Sean Akadiri, Founder and CEO of AgBoost®.

So, what is Genomics? Genomics is a biological process that is concerned with the structure, function, evolution, and the mapping of genomes. Genomes are the complete set of genes that are present in the cells of an organism. By utilizing a technique that analyzes genomes, AgBoost® can look at the genetics of cattle to predict the merit of the livestock.

If the genetic merit of a herd is not high, producers will consequently incur a lot of costs that would have otherwise been avoided with a high genetic merit (e.g. extra feed, replacement costs, and veterinary costs). The utilization of genomics in animal agriculture increases the accuracy of cattle evaluations.

AgBoost® was designed as a solution to give cattle producers access to large amounts of easily digestible data that they can then use for breeding and management decisions. Some of these decisions include help in the selection of optimal pairs for breeding, recommendations on when to sell offspring (based on genetic traits), optimal time to keep animals, lineage tracking to track and increase the number of superior traits in the herd, and nutritional recommendations to improve herd diets.

In addition to providing cattle producers with information about their herd, AgBoost® also provides a platform to connect buyers and sellers online. Lastly, all this data from AgBoost® can be accessed in real time from anywhere in the world.

AgBoost® offers a free trial for producers available at www.ag-boost.com. AgBoost® also offers subscriptions which vary based on the functions they need and the number of animals they wish to manage via the online software.

Akadiri founded AgBoost® in 2013. His goal was to revolutionize the livestock industry by developing an easy-to-use, cloud-based platform for small or large producers of livestock. Akadiri attended East Central University in the early 2000’s and received his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry. In 2011, Akadiri attended the University of Oklahoma in pursuit of Chemical Engineering and later received his MBA from Mid-America Christian University in 2014.
