2017 NMotion Demo Day

The sixth cohort of the NMotion Accelerator will pitch their businesses at Demo Day on Thursday, December 6th from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln.

“It’s been really good,” said Christina Oldfather, Director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship with the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development and Interim Co-Managing Director for NMotion. “We’re excited for the community to hear the teams’ stories and their progress, and celebrate what they’ve accomplished.”

Troy Vosseller, Co-Founder of the Gener8tor Accelerator in Madison, Wisconsin will give the keynote.

“We’re thrilled that Troy will be joining us to give the keynote address,” Oldfather said. “He’s going to give us his thoughts about accelerators and entrepreneurial ecosystems in the Midwest.”

Following Vosseller’s presentation, each of the NMotion teams will pitch. The companies are:

Squad Genius – a team management app for busy volunteer youth sports coaches. Using Squad Genius, coaches only have to ask for information or payment requests one time and Squad Genius will take care of all the follow-ups and reminders. In addition, they provide practice plans, playing time and achievement tracking tools that help coaches make the season amazing for every kid.

Jord Producers – a commercial mealworm farm that provides a traceable, value-added agriculture product for customers in both the food industry and pet/animal industry. Mealworms, a sustainable protein, are starting to gain recognition in the edible insect market as food product makers are seeking a food-grade mealworm grown in the U.S. to utilize for their research and new culinary creations.

Groove Watersports – creator of the Groove Vest, the first competition vest that allows users to listen to music through waterproof speakers integrated within the vest. It merges sound with style and action, revolutionizing the way people enjoy the water.

Pawlytics – a management software that helps animal shelters and rescues to be more efficient, data driven, and collaborative so they can save more lives. With Pawlytics, an animal welfare group can maintain their information (like people, pets, and activity) in one central location to streamline their processes while receiving data insights with no extra effort.

Yumaroo – personalized restaurant meal suggestions that make it easier and quicker for people to discover new foods by recommending meals to them based on their taste preferences, dietary restrictions, and quick reviews they submit. With this data, Yumaroo also helps restaurants better serve their audiences.

Pincurl Girls – inspirational planners, wall art, calendars, t-shirts and more. The Pincurl Girls want to see teens grow up to be courageous, focus on their dreams, and remain positive and true to themselves, even if there is some self-doubt along the way. They also understand how it feels to struggle with self-doubt and anxiety. They strive to ensure that anything is possible, regardless of the circumstances – including success and happiness, if you believe in yourself.

NMotion Founder Brian Ardinger, who is currently serving as Interim Co-Director, is pleased to see the next cohort successfully complete the program.

“We’re looking forward to the community coming together to help launch the next batch of startup companies,” he said. “Demo Day will highlight the next wave of entrepreneurship in the Midwest.”

An after-party following Demo Day will be held from 7:30 – 10:00 p.m. at the Hudl headquarters, 600 P Street.

“We’ll celebrate the progress the teams have made, talk about what’s next, and then head over to Hudl HQ to wrap up 2018 with a party,” Oldfather said.
