Last Wednesday about 40 people from Omaha and nearby cities gathered at Slowdown for the Omaha stop on South by Southwest Interactive Town Hall tour. Tammy Lynn Gilmore and Monica Sack of SXSW were the hosts of the night, and the following day they put out a great blog post over on SXSW’s website: “We heart Omaha! Chicago and Indianapolis Next Week.”
Next up on the calendar is SXSW Interactive, March 11-15, the event that brings together over 14,000 people throughout the world – last year, 55 countries were represented – who are interested in the web and its impact. At the event, Jeff has been selected to speak on the panel, “Conference Startups: Grassroots Innovation Rocking the Event World,” and there’s a handful more from Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri who have been selected to speak, as well. In addition, we’ve heard lots of folks telling us they’ll be heading down to Austin this year.

So, how can we celebrate the Silicon Prairie at SXSW and showcase the companies from this great region? With a party, of course, the second annual Silicon Prairie Party at SXSW. Consider this an official invite to participate in what turned out to be one the highlights of SXSW as Gary Vaynerchuk showed up and surprised many with his #SecretWineParty at our party.

Once again, the party will be held at Lanai Rooftop Lounge (422 Congress Avenue) where we’ll have a DJ spinning, drinks flowing and good times rolling. The date of the party is Sunday, March 13 – day three of the five day event – and when the start time is confirmed we’ll be updating you with another post.
Like last year, a major goal of this party is to highlight the companies on the Silicon Prairie to the global audience of SXSW, and like last year, we’ll be doing that through affordable sponsorship packages to bring company names front and center.
