Though Big Omaha is limited to 650 attendees this year, we’ve rounded up the best of what’s out there for the badge-less bunch. Below is the agenda for how to best experience Big Omaha on a budget.

Wednesday

Beer && Code Pre-Party

5-8 p.m. at Old Mattress Factory (501 North 13th Street)

BECOME A SPONSOR

With the goal of connecting Omaha programmers with those traveling in for the event, Beer && Code, a meetup group, is inviting all/only programmers to join them. “So many programmers come to Omaha for this conference,” Beer && Code’s website says, “and it just seems to obvious to get you all connected before the festivities.”

StartupIowa Pre-Party

6-8 p.m. at Upstream Brewing Company (514 S. 11th Street)

Calling all Iowans and fans of Iowa, the StartupIowa crew has organized a happy hour to kick off the networking and devise a game plan for the two days ahead. “StartupIowa plans to show the cornhuskers how our state parties,” the party’s announcement says.

SoDak Meetup

6:30 p.m. at Upstream Brewing Company (514 S. 11th Street)

Just as folks from Omaha, Iowa and elsewhere are having Big Omaha pre-parties, the attendees from Nebraska’s neighbors to the north plan to meet up, as well.

Big Omaha Opening Party with Kauffman Foundation

8 p.m. at The Slowdown (729 North 14th Street)

This is a great opportunity to meet attendees coming in from across the nation. The event has a $5 cover, but if you RSVP you’ll get in for free. RSVP at bigomaha.com/openingparty.
