As part of our emphasis on celebrating the tech community across the prairie, we are excited to announce the return of the Silicon Prairie Awards. This will be our 4th year, and it’s always a great opportunity for startup community leaders and feeders to get together and celebrate what we’ve accomplished together.

Caleb Ulffers, who produced last year’s SPA ceremony, is back again this year. As many of you already know, if Caleb is putting it on, it’s going to be a great evening.

This year we are expanding our vision to embrace the wider Silicon Prairie region in two ways:

1. We are leaving the big cities and heading out to Lincoln, Nebraska, one of the hottest up-and-coming startup communities. The Haymarket is known for its all-for-one “Bang The Drum” vibe, and the Lincoln community has been a huge supporter of the region at large, with regular caravans to Omaha, Kansas City, and Iowa.

1. We are also adding a new award for corporate innovators. There are a lot of interesting startup-like ventures happening in our region, where established companies are drawing on the insights of startup culture to reinvent their industries. Disruptive technologies are shaking up every field, and we want to recognize the people who are putting the Silicon Prairie on the cutting edge of that trend.

Silicon Prairie Awards – Event Details

When: October 1st, 2015. Doors open at 6pm. Awards begin at 7.

Where: The Rococo Theatre in downtown Lincoln. (140 N 13th St)

Tickets: Tickets will go on sale on August 3rd when the finalists are announced.

Nominations are now open. Please visit our nomination page to make your voice heard. The nomination round ends on July 31st. Finalists will be announced on August 3rd and will be voted on by the public and a panel of judges. Winners will be announced October 1st at the SPA ceremony.
