Omaha-based nonprofit Open Range announced its new Dinner Club series as part of its mission to bridge gaps and convene the Nebraska startup ecosystem. The first meetup will take place Feb. 25. Those of various career levels and venture ambitions are encouraged to register.

The Nebraska Women in Tech Summit is back for its second year to celebrate and support women in technology roles
The summit was launched in 2025 by the Nebraska Tech Collaborative, a talent and workforce initiative under the Aksarben Foundation, after seeing Nebraska women fall behind. The event returns with new panels and sessions on leadership and work-life balance. An awards ceremony will also honor five Nebraska women for their work.

In new North Omaha innovation district plan, OIPA focuses on business and housing support and hopes to launch an entrepreneurship impact fund
Staff of the Omaha Inland Port Authority emphasized that development in North Omaha should benefit current residents so they aren’t left out of new wealth generated in the historically disinvested community. The innovation district aims to support early and growing companies, though there’s a long road from plan to action.

Invest Nebraska is one of 24 nonprofit organizations nationwide selected by Microsoft to participate in its 2026 TechSpark Fellows. Both The Combine and Intersect Coworking and Incubator gain access to curriculum and resources for business and startup support.

Startup ecosystem support organization Open Range announces first permanent CEO
The nonprofit named Laurel Oetken as its new chief executive officer. Launched in 2025, Open Range aims to link and grow the Greater Omaha and Lincoln entrepreneurial hubs through events, outreach and resource connections. Oetken had served as vice president of operations.
