Registration is open for the 2025 Nebraska Women in STEM Conference in La Vista, April 3-4. The conference will feature keynote speaker Raychelle Burks, Ph.D., and an expanded program of networking, professional development and growth opportunities.

Nebraskans curious about the inner workings of the state’s tech and startup community have the opportunity to learn more in upcoming events designed to give up-close access to industry leaders. Tech Nebraska is launching the Tech Talks series, and Nebraska Startup Academy is now the organizer of Scale Omaha.

The 2025 Nebraska Women in Tech Summit was created to elevate women who work in technology in Nebraska. The one-day event was attended by around 250 people and included insights into AI and data security, discussions on career growth and authentic leadership, interactive panels and a resource fair.

The Midwest Women Entrepreneurs Collective (MWEC) provides women entrepreneurs educational resources and networking opportunities to open doors to success. The collective officially launched this week and is actively seeking more members to help carry out its mission.

The 1 Million Cups Omaha event on Feb. 19 was abruptly hijacked by a Zoom bot, bombarding attendees with offensive imagery. Organizers shut down the broadcast, and immediately started working on enhancing security.

Four founders from Nebraska were selected to join the Kansas City-based Pipeline Entrepreneurs network. The program is designed to support high-growth entrepreneurs in the Midwest though a year-long series of training and ongoing mentorship.

The gener8tor Skills Accelerator Program is designed to support underemployed and unemployed individuals in mid-level careers with job preparation, exploration and placement assistance. The free program is self-paced and offered virtually. Applications are open through Monday, January 20.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development extended the submission deadline to Friday, December 20 for communities, businesses and other organizations that want to propose creative ideas to strengthen Nebraska’s workforce.
