The end of the month means that it’s Cornstalks time again, folks! In last month’s episode we heard from Ben Schaechter of GoPollGo. He introduced us to his new polling web app, which has since launched into public beta. Personally, I’m very excited about his startup. For those of you who couldn’t join us, you can see his presentation here.
Thursday, September 24th will be the new edition. This month, we’ll be meeting Bruce Hoberman, CEO of Proxibid, an internet auction service provider. Mr. Hoberman is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Lincoln and the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School. Many of you might be familiar with another local company he founded and served as president from 1971 to 1993: Homer’s Music. Mr. Hoberman founded his first company at age 23, and has 30 years experience with startups. Given his background, he certainly has plenty of insight to offer entrepreneurs.
The new Cornstalks format will continue this week. Of course, this means networking as well as wine, beer, milk and cookies at 6:30 p.m., followed by our speaker at 7:30. The location, the downtown Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce (1301 Harney St), is also the same.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
