So, South by Southwest Interactive 2010 is a couple weeks behind us, but I’m still battling a mix of tiredness, email fatigue and an undiagnosed case of SXSW SARS, which seems to run rampant each year. That being said, the Silicon Prairie Party hosted by Big Omaha on Sunday, March 14, was a tremendous amount of fun!
We held the party at the Lanai Rooftop Lounge and it was a beautiful night for the event. Here are some pictures that tell the story of the party:

Not only were there Omahans and other Prairie residents at the party, but there were those that wanted to join us at a later date. The I want to live in Omaha sticker above is an addition to the I live in Omaha campaign from What Cheer. Photo by gabekangas via Flickr.
Another special thanks to all of our sponsors who, without their support, wouldn’t have allowed us the opportunity to produce the event we did. Photo by Danny Schreiber
The party favors Oriential Trading Company provided were a hit. We had people running around all night with fake moustaches, foam cow footballs and slap bracelets (yes, slap bracelets). Photo by Danny Schreiber.
The event was packed the entire evening with people from throughout the Prairie and beyond connecting and enjoy the beautiful Austin weather.
The highlight of my night was when Gary Vaynerchuk announced on Twitter that Lanai was the first spot of his Secret Wine Party. Gary and I had been talking throughout the day and we managed to line things up at Lanai. Each year at SXSW, Gary chooses a party and decends on the event with an unbelievable number of cases of wine and then announces the location on Twitter. Once the location is not so secret, the crowds descend and mayhem begins.
Overall, the event was a great time and everyone got a chance to meet and interact. Mark your calendar for Sunday March 13, 2011 – we plan to do it all over again!
