A date and location have been set for the third annual BarCamp Omaha. (Note: The BarCamp Omaha website has not yet been updated.) This year’s event will again be held at Nomad Lounge, and it will take place Saturday, November 20. The planning team, which includes Eric Downs, Megan Hunt, Matt Secoske, and myself, are hard at work lining up the details, and more information will be released in the next week or two.
For those unfamiliar with BarCamp, here’s an explanation from the forthcoming BarCamp 2010 FAQ:
BarCamp is an event for people who want to share their passion and excitement about their jobs, hobbies, and interests. It’s an event for people who want to listen and learn from their peers. And the special thing about BarCamp Omaha is that it’s for everybody!
Essentially, it’s a day-long event, in which anyone can sign up to give a 25-minute presentation. The presentations are loosely grouped into tracks around entrepreneurs, creatives, and developers, but really are open to anyone. BarCamps happen all over the world, and this will be the third time we’ve put on the event in Omaha.
