Grand Consulting – Customer Service Representative (Des Moines)

Grand Consulting provides computer and network support.

Grand Consulting is looking to add to the team and hire an entry level Customer Service Representative.

You’ll provide the best customer service to our clients that they have ever heard of or experienced in the computer support field. Most of our clients are located in and around Des Moines.The majority of the support we offer to our clients is over the phone or through e-mail but several times a week you’ll be required to drive on site to solve an issue. Our clients primarily utilize Windows workstations and servers.

Technical proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting a Windows environment is NOT required but eagerness and willingness to learn is required. You also have to love solving problems as well as feel comfortable using technology.

We are looking for someone who loves to work with people and someone who can keep his cool when facing even the most difficult client or problem. Our customers love to receive clear and concise answers. Empathy and patience is going to be your primary virtue. You should enjoy the process of making someone happy by solving a problem that they are facing.

The environment will be fast paced, so you need to be ready and able to handle about a truckload of e-mails and phone calls each day when you are at full-speed.

Dwolla – Intern (Des Moines)

Dwolla is an Iowa-grown, payment processing engine serving financial institutions, merchants, and consumers with e-commerce, mobile & social integration.

Dwolla’s gained national attention and we’re looking for an intern with a computer science background to join us in a fast-paced work environment.

It’s a topsy, turvy world. The chosen candidate’s first mission: implementing a web application that mimics Dwolla’s iPhone application.

The chosen candidate will work fairly independently, but we like to have as much creative energy around as possible. Thus we’ll encourage your ideas & possible other contributions. Preferably you’d be in the Des Moines area.

You’ll need a solid background in:

On Pitch is a music, entertainment, and lifestyle marketing agency that provides fresh ideas, smart strategies and bold plans customized for your brand.

We’re looking for spring and summer interns to join the On Pitch team. Why? We want to help students learn about the marketing and music industry while gaining real word experience. Others helped us along the way, and we want to do the same for the next generation of aspiring marketing and music professionals. We won’t ask you to sharpen our pencils and fetch us coffee. Interns will get to dive in head first to assist us with marketing projects for bands, events, music venues, and small businesses.

Delinea Design – Intern (Omaha)

Delinea Design is a multimedia creative studio.

Delinea Design, located at located at 701 Soth 15th St. Studio 101, is looking for interns with backgrounds in the fields of video production/editing and web design/coding. Delinea Design has been in operation for six years, originally founded in Lincoln, Nebraska. We specialize in short/long documentary film and commercial spots with an emphasis on high-quality video production, After Effects and other animation, as well as “out of the camera” visual effects. Our web design is focused on Flash content as well as CMS sites, and sites developed for mobile devices. Our overall goal it to integrate video, photography, graphic design, visual arts and web design into new, innovative, multimedia projects for our clients.

Weitz Funds – Sales and Marketing Assistant (Omaha)

Weitz Funds is a registered investment advisor founded in 1983 by Wallace Weitz. Today the firm employs 29 people and manages approximately $3.5 billion in assets.

Sales & Marketing Assistant reports to and primarily supports the Director of Marketing and Client Service. This individual is expected to assist with any and all projects within the Client Services department. Responsibilities include answering calls, making travel and meeting arrangements, preparing reports and financial data. Additional duties include assisting with trade show and event planning, creating or updating presentation files, assisting with tracking budgets and expenses, and communicating with external creative service providers, processing expense reports, coordinating the submission of proposals, assisting with consultant databases, troubleshooting minor technical problems, and maintaining department CRM. This position requires self healthy curiosity to learn, organizational skills, and strong computer skills (including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and the internet). It also calls for flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, a warm, friendly and engaging personality and a passion for customer service and sales.

Essential Functions include but a not limited to the following:

  • Types and designs general correspondence, memos, charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc. Proofreads copy for spelling, grammar, and layout, making appropriate changes. Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy.
  • Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system. Retrieves information from files when needed.
  • Establishes, develops, maintains and updates library of trade journals and magazines.
  • Answers, screens telephone calls, forwards e-mail of messages and arranges conference calls. Prepares information needed for calls.
  • Provides back up for front desk receptionist.
  • Coordinates manager schedule and maintains calendar.
  • Arranges and coordinates travel schedules and reservations.
  • Completes expense reports.
  • Keeps CRM System, Salesforce.com, up to date and accurate. Creates new contacts and organizations, categorizes contacts, uploads data, runs reports. Makes suggestions on how to continuously improve.
  • Conducts research, and compiles and types statistical reports.
  • Coordinates and arranges meetings, confirms meetings including time, date and location, prepares agendas, itineraries and presentation materials, reserves and prepares facilities, and records and transcribes minutes of meetings as necessary.
  • Prepares and sends outgoing mail and correspondence.
  • Attends meetings and training as requested.
  • Register company and manager for conferences. Organize and ship all required materials.
  • Coordinate the submission of proposals and questionnaires.
  • Compiles and send all client reports.
  • Other duties as assigned based on company needs.
