The second annual Awesome Camp, Lincoln’s own twist of the popular unconference BarCamp, kicks off with an opening party next Friday, February 25th at 7 p.m. at red9 (322 South 9th Street). The following day, Saturday, February 26, attendees will gather from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for a day filled with talks in one of three tracks: tech, creative and entrepreneurship.
Per the usual unconference schedule, these talks will be given by attendees themselves, and they can begin signing up for the 30-minute speaking slots at the opening party. Before Saturday’s attendee-driven talks begin, however, there will be a keynote from Jay Wilkinson of Firespring.

The cost of the event is $10 and it includes admittance to the Friday night social (a reserved area of red9) and all-day Saturday, during which lunch is provided by red9. The event, which is being put on by the Social Media Club of Lincoln, expects about 200 attendees. According to a press release from the organization, all proceeds from the Awesome Camp go to the Social Media Club of Lincoln and will fund programming and events for the following year.
