One week removed from a high-profile question-and-answer session in Des Moines, Milne, the co-founder and CEO of Dwolla, will present Tuesday evening as part of Kansas City’s Technology Entrepreneur Speakers Program (Tech ESP). The event will take place from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Country Club Plaza offices of Polsinelli Shughart (700 W. 47th St., Suite 700).

People who plan to attend are asked to register in advance. Tickets cost $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Milne and Dwolla, his Des Moines-based online cash transfer startup, should be familiar figures to regular readers of SPN. But for those who are looking to get up to speed on CEO and company, here’s more from the Tech ESP’s organizers:

Ben Milne, 29, is a mobile payments outsider and founder of Dwolla, a new payment network based in the heart of the Silicon Prairie. The company continues to disrupt Visa and Mastercard by building useful and innovative online and mobile products on top of its open and low-cost payment network.

Ben is a repeat entrepreneur, having created and sold another multi-million dollar startup with oversea operations back in 2008. Open, candid, and honest, he is a sought after speaker in the international startup community, payments industry, and tech circles. Ben also has extensive leadership, investment, and mentorship experience with numerous companies, charities, and organizations in the Silicon Prairie region.

Presented by the Missouri Small Business and Technology Development Center, the Tech ESP is a series featuring six presentations by technology business leaders from across the region (Milne is the second speaker on the slate). More on the Tech ESP, again from its organizers:

This series … highlights the region’s most innovative technology business leaders as they discuss ideas and opportunities for the future generation of entrepreneurs. Tech ESP highlights experiences, lessons learned and unique issues and challenges faced by entrepreneurs in the creation of a new enterprise.a
