Last week the Technology Association of Iowa announced a program called Startup Co. that will serve as a year-long mentorship program for Iowa-based startups.
“TAI Startup Co. closes the gap and connects young companies with established thought leaders who can aid in their growth and development,” said TAI president Leann Jacobsen in a press release. “In an Iowa economy fueled by innovation, it’s imperative to ensure innovators have access to the resources needed to excel.”
In order to apply, companies must have a founder participate, market or develop a technology product. The company also must have been in business less than five years and earned less than $1 million in revenue.
Among others, mentors for this year’s program include:
- Dan Shipton, CEO of Change
- Erin Rollenhagen, president of Entrepreneurial Technologies
- James Eliason, co-founder and CEO Goodsmiths
- Mike Ferrari, co-founder of SocialMoney
Selected companies will be invited to attend one of two kickoff events either in western and central Iowa on July 16 or northern and eastern Iowa on July 18. For more information or to apply online, visit the TAI website through June 30.
