Students are about to get an early crack at the real world courtesy the Kansas City Startup Village. Leaders of the KCSV will host the inaugural Most Entrepreneurial City in America Youth Technology Innovation Challenge September 25-29 at the University of Missouri–Kansas City and other locations. High school and college students—120 in all, with the help of volunteer advisers—will work in teams of seven to create technology solutions for problems presented by local area businesses. Teams will present on the last day at the National World War I Museum, with the top teams winning awards. Student filmmakers also will document the five-day event and be judged at a later event. The Challenge is being funded by a regional grant from the KC Accelerator Project and the Kansas City Kansas Community Colleges. — Source: Marketwire
