Three SPNers will make the trek to California next week for two meetup events open to everyone.

Next Monday, Dusty Davidson, Caleb Ulffers and I will be traveling to San Francisco—from Oct. 7 to 9—then heading to Los Angeles—Oct. 9 to 11—for meetings with entrepreneurs and investors in the area, as well as two meetups.

Although Silicon Prairie News is based in the Midwest, we believe it’s important to continue conversations and develop new relationships in other regions where startups take root and innovation takes place. Even though technology keeps us well connected, at the end of the day it’s important to travel and meet with our friends in their own backyard.

We’ll be sharing stories of what’s happening in the Silicon Prairie as well as strategizing and sharing ideas on how to help increase the level of collaboration between San Francisco, Silicon Valley and the heart of the Midwest.

As with past coastal visits, we’re excited to announce we’ll be hosting two meetups. A special thanks to the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, our premier sponsor for these events.

For our Bay Area friends, we’ll be hosting an event Oct. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Press Club of San Francisco—you may recall the location from last year’s “Omahans and Expats” meetup held during Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference. We’ll also host a meetup in Los Angeles Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. at Chateau Marmont. We hope you’ll stop by to connect with other entrepreneurs and friends of Silicon Prairie News.

To learn more about the meetups or to RSVP, visit the San Francisco event on Facebook or Los Angeles event on Facebook.
