Just in time for the holidays, the Kansas City Startup Village is hoping to raise some money to help the city’s current and future entrepreneurs before the tax credit window closes Dec. 27.
Since the tax credits were awarded in July, only $10,000 of the $125,000 have been used. As the year comes to a close, organizers are working with KCSV to make a final push for contributions and make the most of the program through the end of the donation period on Dec. 27.
All donations to the Kansas Center for Entrepreneurship—also known as NetWork Kansas—will contribute to a revolving fund that provides matching loans and grants to startups through KCSV. This 501c3 helps operate the E-Village Pilot program, a Network Kansas program modeled after its six-year e-community partnership, and works to fund future entrepreneurs involved with KCSV.

By contributing to this fund, donors will receive a charitable donation deduction on federal taxes as well as a 75 percent Kansas state income tax credit, meaning donors will likely get 85 to 110 percent of their money back.
How can you help?
Individuals and corporations—excluding banks and financial institutions—can contribute to the fund. Donations can be made in amounts ranging from $250 to $66,667 through Dec. 27.
Interested donors can submit contributions through PayPal or by writing a check to NetWork KC’s KCSV headquarters, attention Jonny Kot.
