Calling all Iowa college students: Applications for the annual Pappajohn New Venture Student Business Plan Competition are now open. Sponsored by John Pappajohn and Equity Dynamics Inc., the competition is open to all full-time college or university students in Iowa who are interested in starting their own business.

Students will first compete regionally with three $500 grants being awarded in each region. Each regional winner will then go on to a statewide competition, where the top three business plans each receive $5,000. Students must submit an intent-to-compete form by Feb. 28 and completed applications must be submitted by March 28. The application can be found online and must be emailed or filed in hard copy by the above dates. — Source: Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship Outreach
