Just a month ago, SPN received a nomination for the Silicon Prairie Awards stating, “the Sprint Accelerator was the center of the KC tech community this year, period.”

So what better way to kick off Big Kansas City than a trip to the place that brought us together over the year.

Presented by the Kansas Bioscience Authority, the Sprint Accelerator will host a “reverse pitch” on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5–7 p.m. in collaboration with Collab, a program at KU Med that perfectly fits into the Accelerator’s mobile health theme. Collab is a student-led organization that follows the well-known and scaled 1 Million Cups format: two innovators present each week, one from KU Med, and one from the broader technology and civic community. Led by Maria Iliakova and Cate Wisdom, presenters have six minutes plus a Q&A to create conversation and promote, understand and ultimately solve problems in the medical field today.

Before Big Kansas City gets kicked off at our Opening Party later that evening, stop by the Accelerator to hear about problems and help brainstorm solutions that just might be worth a Sprint Mobile Health Accelerator powered by Techstars application, which opened last week for 2015.

If you have an idea to pitch, you can submit here. Just want to attend? Register here.

Big Kansas City Pop Up events are a way for the community to get involved outside the main event and away from the Hangar. It’s our hope that these events spark more conversations, facilitate further discussion and stimulate collaboration in the community.
