We are pleased to announce that two sponsored buses will be headed to the Silicon Prairie Awards in Lincoln this year. The 58-passenger buses will allow you to relax, work, drink and socialize on your way to and from the regional awards event.

“Last year Lincoln rallied to bring a bus down to Kansas City so we’re excited to see the rest of the region respond with support for Lincoln,” said Caleb Ullfers, the event’s lead organizer.

Riders will have the opportunity to use the on board wifi, finish up some work, bring along beer or other drinks (if not in glass containers), and socialize with the community.

The Omaha bus is sponsored by the Greater Omaha Chamber. It will leave from Crossroads Mall at 4:45pm to arrive by 6pm at the Rococo for the opening reception.

“A win for any community in the Midwest is a win for Omaha,” said Kody Schrader from the Greater Omaha Chamber. “We’re all a team in that regard.”

The Kansas City bus is sponsored by the Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. The bus will leave at 12:45pm from Union Station and arrive in the Haymarket a couple hours before the opening. This will allow KC attendees to take a walking tour of the downtown Lincoln startup scene or get some work done at a local coffee shop.

“The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development is excited to welcome attendees of the Silicon Prairie Awards to Lincoln,” said Pat Haverty, Vice President of the LPED. “We hope that everyone will get a chance to visit the Haymarket and maybe catch some other Lincoln Startup Week events before heading over to the Rococo for the awards.”

Both buses will be heading back at 10pm, following the closing reception.

The cost is $5 to reserve your seat. Bus seats can be reserved on the SPAwards registration page.
