On the 8th of August, Bot Image filed paperwork with the SEC that they had received $355k in funds from outside investors. The company used Start Engine, a cloud funding website that has helped more than 275 companies raise more than $100mm in investments.

Bot Image is an artificial intelligence software tool for accurately identifying cancerb ased on MRI images. For example, Bot Image’s first product ProstatID helps patients identify whether they have prostate cancer, the second leading cause of cancer death for men.

The simple problem behind ProstatID is that doctors make subjective calls on MRIs and other diagnostic tests. ProstatID overcomes the subjectiveness of diagnosis “by using complex, holistic AI Algorithms.” This AI algorithm was originally developed by software developing doctors at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). And it has been shown clinically to overcome some of the visual and cognitive limitations of doctors reading MRI data.

The company was formed in 2018. One of the founders is Randall Jones, PhD – a serial entrepreneur who has created a variety of MRI related custom tools, including Resonance Innovations, ScanMed, and FirstScan.
