Announcing on September 4th the launch of their new Lincoln based “nontraditional marketing and advertising startup”, StoryHook, Erik Miller and his team are planning to do what he believes many agencies are claiming to do but are failing miserably at, telling stories.
“A lot of groups say that their focus is on stories, but they aren’t actually doing that or they are telling stories that just aren’t real. We have already worked with a couple of companies on finding their stories, who previously thought they knew their story. We are helping the companies to be themselves and we think that is what makes us unique.” Miller said..
Breaking off from a full time position at another agency, Miller founded his own company in early July, hiring his first employee then. Currently Storyhook is made up of three employees, Miller himself a Designer, Asha Timperley a writer, and Mozart Dixon a developer. Their goal is to put a lot of focus on startups and entrepreneurs.

“We want to work with entrepreneurs and startups in the Silicon Prairie area, to help them tell their compelling stories. Most startups don’t know they have a compelling story to tell or they think that a history timeline on their about us page is their story. A history timeline is not story,” said Miller..
StoryHook is based in the diverse Lincoln Haymarket startup community. Miller himself designed and built most all of the furniture in their space. You can find out more about StoryHook, their philosophies and methods by visiting their website.
