In the span of just more than two months, Divshot has progressed from a 60-second Startup Weekend pitch to the precipice of a $25,000 prize.

Divshot, a Kansas City, Mo. startup, was selected from a pool of more than 600 applicants as one of 10 finalists that will present July 10 at Crowdstart LA in Santa Monica, Calif. Divshot was one of five judges’ picks for the pitch contest. The other five finalists were chosen by a crowd vote.

Divshot is web-based software for rapid prototyping of web apps. It aims to allow people to build interfaces by simply “dragging and dropping.” The project was born out of Startup Weekend Kansas City in April and is powered by co-founders Michael Bleigh, Nathan Bleigh and Jake Johnson.

Johnson reacted to Divshot’s selection in a post published over the weekend on the Divshot blog

We’re looking forward to learning more about the LA startup scene and showing off some exciting new improvements to our drag and drop interface builder. Don’t miss out!I

Divshot is the second recent hackathon project for Michael Bleigh that’s had legs beyond the weekend during which it was created. Bleigh also built Qup, a Netflix app that took top prize at Hack the Midwest in early June and within a couple of days had garnered national press and a few hundred downloads.
