We are pleased to announce that Silicon Prairie News will be curating the Omaha edition of Startup Digest.
For those unfamiliar with Startup Digest, it’s a simple email sent out every week with a list of startup/entrepreneurial events taking place in your city. It started in Silicon Valley, but has since grown to serve over 30 cities worldwide.
How can I signup?
Go to thestartupdigest.com, check the box for Omaha, and enter your email address. That’s it!
How frequently will I be emailed?
Because Omaha isn’t Silicon Valley, we won’t be sending out an email blast once a week. We will start with every other week and see where that gets us. No spam, we promise!
Thanks to our sponsor
What’s the purpose of Startup Digest?
We think Chris McCann, Startup Digest co-founder, says it best:
After six months of attending events, I can proudly say that I am a part of the startup community here in Silicon Valley because of the relationships I built with the people I met at events. I want to spread this feeling of successfully entering a startup community and the power of high-quality local events to the health of every startup community around the world.
- We want to promote the entrepreneurial lifestyle and the culture of doing, to help change the world into a better place.
- We want to strengthen the pre-existing entrepreneurial communities no matter how small or large they currently are.
- We want to create stronger bonds between entrepreneurs through relevant events where the startup community physically meets each other.
- We want to promote the cross-pollination of ideas and people that would not otherwise interact.
- We want to empower the leaders in these startup communities and give them the tools and inspiration to create a huge difference.
Why curate Startup Digest in Omaha?
The buzz and excitement around Startup Digest in the Valley has expanded across the world, and we’re humbled and excited to be a part of it. It’s the intention of Startup Digest to be the go-to place for information about startup events when you’re visiting a city. When people visit Omaha, we want them to be able to easily recognize where to go for information.
How is it different than the Silicon Prairie News email?
Many of you choose to receive the Silicon Prairie News RSS feed via email. This is not a replacement for that email, but rather a more targeted and focused email specifically for startup events. The mission of Silicon Prairie News encompasses many things – creatives, innovators, etc. – not just startups. This list is a great way for the people interested in the startup scene to easily stay up-to-date .
I’ve included a copy of the most recent Startup Digest from Des Moines so you can see what you’re in for:
