10 people to grab coffee with if you’re new to the DSM startup community

While the Silicon Prairie may span across several states, include vastly different types of companies and entrepreneurs with diverse backgrounds (and football rivalries), supportive communities are one factor that tie them all together. Whether you’re in Omaha or Des Moines, Kansas City or Cedar Rapids, you’ll find people who really care about helping their fellow…

Bawte snags $100K investment from Rise of the Rest DSM stop

John Jackovin: A time to reflect

(Guest post by John Jackovin) Less than a week before this Techstars experience comes to an end. This was the post I was most excited to write when I began the Techstars program. The post right before Demo Day. The post before I can get back to “normal” life. The post before I get to…

John Jackovin: I should be memorizing right now

(Guest post by John Jackovin) With less than two weeks until demo day I have to do something I am pretty bad at…memorization. My brain works a certain way, I guess all brains work a certain way, duh. Better put, my brain works in a way that makes it difficult for me to memorize words…

Techstars’, like most all accelerators, goal is to get you “ready” to exit the program. This means different things for every company. The ambiguity revolves around what “ready” means…

John Jackovin on Techstars Boulder: It’s all downhill from here

(Guest post by John Jackovin) Seven weeks down and six to go. So much left to do. I love the fact that we are more than half way through a really tough program. We made it this far and I haven’t lost my marbles. Only six weeks until I get to see my girls for…

  • After publicity from ProductHunt post, Bawte joins Techstars Boulder

Earlier this year when Des Moines-based startup Bawte relaunched its platform to focus more heavily on customer support, former Hatchlings team member George Jurgens posted the product on ProductHunt. At the time, Bawte co-founder John Jackovin says he’d never heard of the site and was surprised when Bawte was quickly voted to the top.

  • Bawte announces integration with Amazon through purchase receipts

Inputting your newly purchased products into Bawte just became a little bit easier. That is, if you’re shopping on Amazon. The company announced Wednesday that its app—which allows users to tag purchased items and receive product manuals or service information—will now integrate with Amazon through purchase receipts.
