In an unfortunate and ironic twist, SPN hasn’t covered nearly enough of the entrepreneurial work fellow journalists are doing at the University of Missouri. Last week, the Reynolds Journalism Institute announced nine fellows—now with a non-residential option—for the fall semester who will work on challenges within the field, often revolving around tech. Many of their ideas are, in a way, small startups: Misha Leybovich‘s Meograph helps newsrooms piece together video assets on a timeline display to provide context for readers as stories develop, and Trina Chiasson started a company, InfoActive, that aims to simplify the creation of interactive data visualizations. — Source: Reynolds Journalism Institute
