FB-Profile-Graphic_Oct2013Lincoln-based travel startup Travefy has announced the close of a $1.8 million fundraising round, which includes a strategic investment from Travel and Transport, one of the largest travel management companies in the US. Travefy helps groups coordinate and plan trips together.

The announcement comes at the close of Travefy’s 6-month Series A fundraising round. The announcement has received press from Forbes and the Lincoln Journal Star.

“We are very excited about our investment in Travefy,” said Kevin O’Malley, Travel and Transport’s CEO and President. “Our interest was not only in their exciting technology, but also in the people behind the technology. We believe Travefy is well positioned to do great things.”

Other investors included in the round: Nebraska Global, Nelnet (which also led the recent Hudl raise), Columbia University, Linseed Capital, Invest Nebraska, and unnamed angel investors.
