Big Omaha features speakers from across the globe who bring a wide variety of experiences and knowledge to the Silicon Prairie. As Big Omaha announces their speakers, we’ll be featuring them on SPN so you can get to know them and find out how they’re helping to shape the startup ecosystem prior to the conference on May 17-19.
Big Omaha announced the addition of Shandra Woworuntu, an international advocate and leader in the fight of human trafficking, to their 2017 speaker line-up.
Woworuntu escaped from being sold into an underground sex business by an international organized trafficking ring in 2001. She went on to found Mentari, a company that serves as a source of empowerment for other survivors of trafficking and helps them reintegrate into a community and live independently.

Woworuntu is also a commissioner on human trafficking in the state of New Jersey and was appointed by Barack Obama to be the member of First U.S. Advisory Council on human trafficking to the Presidential Integration Task Force.
Woworuntu will speak and share her emotional and inspiring story on the afternoon of Friday the 18th. View the whole conference schedule on the Big Omaha website.
