Big Omaha announced the addition of Shirley Chung to their 2017 speaker line-up.

Chung was a Top Chef season 11 finalist and the chef-owner of Steamers Co. in Los Angeles, as well as chef-partner of Chung Lee Consulting in Las Vegas. Most recently, Shirley has opened a restaurant in Orange County, Twenty Eight, featuring modern Chinese cuisine.

Chung spent her youth in Bejing, China and came to America for college. After graduating, she spent a few years working in Silicon Valley but left the tech industry to pursue a passion in food.

Chung attended the California Culinary Academy San Francisco and trained in classic French and Italian cuisine. Chung has worked with culinary celebrities like Thomas Keller, Guy Savoy, and Mario Batali.
