Silicon Prairie News released a new podcast series today that features interviews with the Big Omaha 2017 speakers.
Brian Lee, the managing director for Big Omaha and Silicon Prairie News, sat down with the speakers to talk with them about this year’s conference theme.
“Our theme this year was overcoming obstacles,” said Lee. “Each speaker told us the obstacles they overcame so that we might learn and grow from their experience.”
Lee said the interviews ranged from hunger-inducing with Joe Ariel and Vanessa Torrivilla from Goldbely to mind-blowing with Matt Zeiler of Clarifai.
“Top Chef finalist Shirley Chung told us an inspiring story about how she left Silicon Valley and took a chance in the culinary arts,” said Lee. “Nish Nadaraja and Christina Brodbeck, two early employees at Yelp and Youtube, told us how they formulated their theories on branding together.”
The SPN podcast will continue after Big Omaha as a new way for the Midwest’s innovation community to keep up with developments and grow closer.
“We will interview leaders in the community as well as inspiring guests from outside the community,” said Lee. We hope to hear from innovators not only in Omaha and Lincoln, but Kansas City, Des Moines, St. Louis, Sioux City, Wichita and everywhere else we can find forward-thinking entrepreneurship and innovation in the region.”
