RiskGenius, based in Overland Park, Kansas closed a $500k+ Series A-1 funding round from undisclosed investors on December 26, 2018.

RiskGenius is an insurance policy automation engine that rose out of ClaimKit, Inc. ClaimKit was co-founded in 2012 by insurance attorneys, Christopher Cheatham and Douglas Reiser, as a solution for collecting, organizing, and delivering claim documents to attorneys, consultants, accountants, and claim handlers.  Cheatham was a 2014 Pipeline Fellowship recipient.

ClaimKit, in 2016, launched RiskGenius, a platform that offers contract management for the insurance and legal industries. The RiskGenius platform provides custom algorithms and workflow modules using artificial intelligence (AI) to create more efficient underwriting workflows.

The company’s product – GeniusForms – offers a Google-like search for relevant insurance policy language. In addition to the search feature, GeniusForms includes ‘Rules’ to flag specific policy language, policy language comparisons, and analytics to show policy language changes over time. The GeniusCheck feature is currently in closed beta testing.
