StoryUP, the makers of a virtual stress relief product called Healium, has made some serious headway recently.
The Missouri-based startup was selected from a pool of 5,000 applicants from 120 different countries to present at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit at the Hague in the Netherlands June 3-5.
“We were delighted to be selected and even more delighted when we saw the large number of female-owned companies attending! Great companies can grow anywhere and to be able to represent the Midwest in the Netherlands on a global stage was a phenomenal experience for our company,” said Sarah Hill, CEO of StoryUP, the maker of Healium.
The summit provided companies that had ready-to-scale products a platform to display their revolutionary products and ideas in hopes of piquing the interest of investors. According to a press release, Healium’s product was “hand-picked to engage with more than 300 investors managing trillions of dollars of assets”.
So, what is Healium and what is its use? We first told you about this company last April after we had the opportunity to check out their platform at the InvestMidwest Venture Capital Forum in Kansas City. Healium is the world’s first augmented virtual reality platform that is powered by wearables via a brain-computer interface or the user’s smart watch. Healium is being used as a self-awareness tool that enables the user to interact with virtual worlds and become more self-aware about their feelings. This has allowed users to experience virtual relaxation.
In addition, Frontiers in Psychology published a study on Healium’s ability to reduce moderate anxiety in as little as four minutes. The company’s patent pending technology is revolutionizing how users interact with their personal biometric data by allowing them to control virtual worlds with their brain or heart rate patterns. As a result, more than 20 airlines have agreed to a licensing deal with StoryUP, which will put their stress management product onboard for passengers enduring longer flights.
Additionally, StoryUP continues to make a name for themselves, winning pitch competitions at CES – the world’s largest technology show – achieving first place at SXSW in XR and being recently nominated for a Webby for Best Use of Augmented Reality.
