Large Rounds (10+ million)

Vyriad – $24.38 million – Rochester, MN – Vyriad is a maker of biopharmaceuticals that help treat cancer through what Pitchbook calls “a single shot”.  This week, they received investment and a partnership with Regeneron. http://www.vyriad.com/2019/11/06/regeneron-vyriad-announcement/

ThreeKit – $20 million – Chicago, IL – Threekit is a product visualization company that provides retail commerce and e-commerce companies with more realistic visualizations.  The company raised $20 million in a round that was led by Shasta Ventures. From the press release: “Buying online takes away the ability to touch and feel a product, so interactive product visuals are critical, especially for highly configurable and sophisticated products,” said Joachim Klein, President of Threekit. “Commercial photography falls far short of online buyer expectations, and current eCommerce experiences don’t capture how consumers engage with product listing before buying. DataCubes – $15.2 million – Chicago – DataCubes is a SaaS tool that underwrites small business and medium sized business risks for standard commercial and specialty lines of business in the property and casualty insurance industry.  The company raised $15.2 million last week led by Palm Drive Capital. From the press release: The old way of underwriting risks is a drain on both a carrier’s resources and the customer experience it is able to provide,” said Kuldeep Malik, CEO and co-founder, DataCubes. “This round of funding will give us a boost to support the demand we are seeing from the underwriting community to fix inefficiencies and drive better expense and loss ratio results.” https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/datacubes-raises-15-2-million-in-series-b-funding-round-300958325.html

Regroup – $4.67 million – Chicago

Pharmazz – $3.69 million – Chicago

Hidrate – $2.23 million – Minneapolis, MN (MSP)  – Hidrate raised $2.23 million from a variety of investors including Backstage Capital. The company has produced a piece of equipment that facilitates continued hydration through a smart, technology enabled water bottle. Small Rounds (Less than $2 million)

Micromatix $1.97 million – MSP 

Elira – $1.89 million – StL – Elira has created a wearable patch that helps obese patients regulate their caloric intake.  This creates a safe method to regulate eating but also provides some sensory feedback to decrease appetite. According to Pitchbook, Elira is partnering with the BioGenerator in St. Louis.

Hitchpin – $1.35 million – Manhattan, KS – Hitchpin is a SaaS application with a mobile form factor that helps facilitate the ag payments and workflow industries.  

CompanyCam – $1.02 million – Lincoln, NE

Ocupath – $1 million – Oklahoma City, OK – Ocupath has created training efforts that utilize virtual reality tools.  Their customers include the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. They have received services from both Thunder Launch Pad and an SBIR grant from the armed services.

Vertiprime – $1 million – Duncan, OK

Engineered Propulsion Systems – $.95 million – New Richmond, WI 

Genesis Systems – $.8 million – Kansas City, MO – Star Wars fans, Genesis Systems is bringing moisture farming to life.  By transforming water vapor (air) into water, the company is creating a resource in many places that water has acted as a constraint.  This is one of a handful of technologies that Genesis is building. Their partners include the U.S. Department of Energy and Rice University.

IOT & M2M Technologies – $.3 million – Chicago

Autoban – $.27 million – Chicago

All Cell – $.25 million – Chicago

Dog Threads – $.25 million – Long Lake, MN

Jovian Technologies – $.25 million – Chicago – Jovian Technologies is a product lifecycle management (PLM) tool that helps provide retail companies with product lifecycle feedback to ensure optimal evolution of products.

SciArt – $.23 million – Madison, WI
