So, you think you’ve got it? Maybe it came to you at the first pitch session, or Big Omaha, or on your way to work yesterday. Whatever the case, we want to hear it!
After a successful first event, we’re excited to announce Creative Capital Pitch Session II: another round of YouTube submissions, another night at the Nomad Lounge, and another grand up for grabs. Again, we’re excited to partner with Invest Nebraska and Nomad Lounge to bring our region’s most innovative ideas together.
But before we jump into the second, another congrats is due to our first winner, Bradley Campbell of S.T.R.A.W., Inc., whose eco-friendly, cost-reducing roofing solution wowed the audience. Remember, the winner is decided by audience vote.

FAQ
Can past finalists participate again?
Yes. Unless you were the winner of a past Creative Capital Pitch Session, you’re encouraged to submit an entry again.
Can I submit more than one entry?
Yes. You can submit as many as you’d like.
Do I need to name my YouTube video anything specific?
No. Name it whatever you’d like. You just need to provide us with a link in the submission form.
I want to participate but I don’t have a camera. Can I borrow yours?
Yes. Dusty will lend you a camera for an hour. You’ll have to coordinate with him (email: dusty@siliconprairienews.com) and stop by BrightMix the day you’ll be borrowing it.
I want to participate but I can’t be there June 4th. If I get selected, can I submit my five minute pitch by video?
No. You’ll need to be present June 4th to participate.
Can my friend join me in my video?
Yes. In fact, all your friends can join you in your video and, if you’re selected, your pitch on the 4th. (But we’re not sure how you’d orchestrate that.)
What’s the format June 4th?
Beginning at 7:30 p.m., the contestants whose submissions are chosen will present in reverse alphabetical order. Each contestant will receive a strict five minutes (beginning the moment you speak) with a one-minute warning (a cymbal crash). After all contestants have presented, the audience will vote by placing a ticket they received earlier in the night in a contest’s ballot box. The contestant chosen by the judges will then be declared the winner.
Are there judges?
Yes. There will be a panel of judges deciding the winner.
What types of ideas are valid?
All. But we do get excited about those with potential business models, change the way we’re doing something now, and have the possiblity to change the world. We encourage those that will help the environment or have a freemium model, too (those seem to be pretty hot right now). But we’re open to all ideas.
If my idea is so good why should I tell the world about it?
Because it comes down to execution. Consider this your first step.
