StorenvyKansas City-based Storenvy, an online store system and marketplace, kicked their site up a level today with the launch of “Storenvy Social.”

Here’s an excerpt from the update they sent out to store owners last Friday:

On Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, we’ll be releasing a major update to Storenvy.com: an all-new “social shopping” side of the site that will give your products more exposure than ever. This has been our vision since the beginning, and we’ve spent the past year and a half getting it ready to go.

One of their co-founders, Jon Crawford, gave a great presentation at the Less Conference a few weeks ago with a preview of the new features. In it, he presented this list:

BECOME A SPONSOR

10 reasons the new Storenvy will change the way you shop and sell online:

  1. It’s a social shopping community supporting independent sellers
  2. Multi-store checkout
  3. Browse and search across thousands of stores
  4. Satisfy your niche interests
  5. Engage with others and see what other people like
  6. See what your friends like and new stuff from your favorite stores
  7. Give at checkout
  8. Simplest backend. Ever.
  9. Fully customizable store design
  10. All that for FREE.

He closed his presentation saying, “Made by three guys in their underwear with no venture capital […] We’ve been profitable since we first started with the T-shirt printing.” He was referring to their merchandise printing and order fulfillment business, which they don’t require their stores to use.

Strorenvy is another example of the innovative web-based products and services coming out of The Prairie. Enjoy the presentation below and definitely take a look around their updated site. We hope to grab an interview with them next month to hear more about their background and receive an update on “Storenvy Social.”
