As today opened up with TEDxKansasCity selling out in 90 minutes, the group behind the local, self-organized version of TED in Omaha is preparing for its second year. This year’s TEDxOmaha will take place Saturday, October 15 at the Holland Performing Arts Center – last year it was held at the Durham Museum – and will be focused on the theme “What’s Possible.”

Individuals who are interested in speaking or who would like to nominate a speaker, can do so tedxomaha.com. Here’s more information from Rebel Interactive, the local team producing TEDxOmaha.

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. In that spirit, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.

Right now, we’re looking to create a stellar speaker line-up! We want to hear from people who have something special to say, who can captivate the crowd, who can speak to the 2011 theme of TEDx Omaha: “What’s Possible.” If you would like to be considered for a speaking role (or if you know of someone who would), please visit the Call for Speakers page, and submit your application and video example.
