Join Chris Pirillo for a drink, possibly a glass of wine, on Monday at Amici Espresso. Photo from facebook.com/chrispirillo
In a fortunate coincidence of timing, I connected via email with Silicon Prairie native-son Chris Pirillo through a friend in Seattle earlier this week and Chris happened to mention that would soon be on his way to Des Moines for a visit to the legendary Iowa State Fair (side note: the butter cow is now on Twitter: @isf_buttercow).
We quickly hit upon the idea of doing a meetup while he’s here and that is now a go for Monday night!
Thanks to our sponsor
Chris, who has a rich history in the local technology and startup scene dating back to his founding of Gnomedex here in 2001, has always been an Iowa advocate even though his career has taken him to California and eventually Seattle.
“Whenever I come back to Iowa, I love meeting the scene’s hippest geeks,” he told me today via email. “That crowd has changed over time, and it would be quite heartening to have seen it explode since my last visit a few years back.”
We’d like to invite you all out to meet Chris that evening and to share with him the great projects you’re working on, the companies that you’re building, and the changes you’ve seen in the community over time.
Here are the details:
- Monday, August 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m
- Amici Espresso (206 6th Avenue)
- RSVP on Facebook (not required but encouraged)
