TEDxOmaha, the local, self-organized version of TED, will take place at the Hixon-Leid Auditorium on the campus of Creighton University on Saturday, October 15 from 12-6 p.m. Originally slated to be held at the Holland Performing Arts Center with more than 1,000 in attendance, the event is now limited to 100, and if you’d like to attend you’ll need to put your name in a hat by Monday (request tickets at tedxomaha.com/tickets).

With the theme “What’s Possible?,” TEDxOmaha has unveiled its lineup of 11 speakers and announced its MC, Roger Fransecky of the Apogee Group (you may remember, we were honored to have him give the opening remarks for us at Big Omaha 2010; he was excellent).

This year’s speakers in alphabetical order (link to bio on TEDxOmaha’s website): Clayton Chapman, Stuart Chittenden, Katie F-S, Beth Katz, Othello H. Meadows III, Tanner O’Dell, Magda G. Peck, Janel Scott, Anne Trumble, Trilety Wade and Dave Weaver.

To learn more about TEDxOmaha, visit tedxomaha.com. Also, if you’re not one of the 100 to get a ticket on Monday, stay tuned for information from TEDxOmaha on viewing parties. On TEDxOmaha’s Facebook page: “we’ll be posting info about TEDxOmaha Viewing Parties next week. You’ll still be able to watch live from anywhere!”

For those unfamiliar with TED or are looking for a preview of what’s to come, check out Dave Weaver’s talk from TEDxSMU 2010.
