The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based startup, which was founded one year ago at Startup Weekend Iowa City, has been selected to present at DEMO Fall 2012, which takes place Monday through Wednesday in Santa Clara, Calif. The technology and innovation conference has served as the coming out party for startups like TiVo and E-Trade.

“DEMO is a nice opportunity for us because it gives us the eyes and ears of millions of people that will help grow our base of users,” RecBob co-founder Chris Quartier said in a release. “The interest we gather will not only vindicate what we’ve done up to this point, but will help drive where we go with the product.”

A Facebook app for managing rec league sports teams, RecBob will present in the social category at DEMO. The startup will share its technology in a six-minute presentation and will have a booth in the expo hall to demonstrate its product.

RecBob’s trip to DEMO was made possible through a through a video pitch contest sponsored by the Startup America Partnership.

“Launching at DEMO is a game-changing opportunity for any startup in the tech space,” Anna Eisenberg of the Startup America Partnership said in an email to Silicon Prairie News. “RecBob will join the ranks of companies such as E-Trade and WebEx who have done so in the past, while presenting in front of thousands of peers, venture capitalists and members of the media.”
