Members of the Kansas City startup scene will soon have another regular meet-up to brew their ideas. 1 Billion Bits—a new speaker and event series created by KC Digital Drive—was created to help foster conversations between developers and the technical community about the increasingly expanding possibilities for gigabit networks. “With due homage to the popular 1 Million Cups program for entrepreneurs, 1 Billion Bits intends to foster a more technical conversation around gigabit applications,” KC Digital Drive’s managing director Aaron Deacon wrote. Deacon told Silicon Prairie News the meetings will help generate ideas for the Gigabit Explorer challenge to be held in Kansas City in early November. The first meeting of 1 Billion Bits will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Google Fiber Space. — Source: KC Digital Drive
