StartupCity Des Moines principal Christian Renaud announced today that the central Iowa incubator and co-working space is now completely funded for its third year, meaning it will operate through the end of September as per the incubator’s original business plan.
In October, Renaud and StartupCity’s co-founder Tej Dhawan wrote a blog post reflecting on their experiences during the first two years.
While there are a number of options for what will happen to the space following StartupCity’s third year, Renaud said in a blog post today that there are “a number of options on the table being discussed with our investors.”
“I’m confident that with all of the different individuals involved and all of the energy and motivation and different sense of ownership, I think one or more successors will grab the baton from StartupCity,” he told Silicon Prairie News in October.
