NMotion, the startup accelerator based in Lincoln, Nebraska, announced the six startups accepted into the 2016 Summer program. This year’s cohort includes startups in AgTech, SportsTech and MarketingTech with team members coming from around the country including Lincoln, Omaha, Florida and California.

“We had an incredibly strong and competitive application pool this year. On average, the teams in our 2016 cohort are further along with both product development and traction, a testament to the strength of our maturing startup ecosystem,” said Brian Ardinger, Managing Director of NMotion.

How deep was the applicant pool?

“Our pool was up about 20% over last year,” Ardinger said. “Some came in with previous investors and customers.”

This year’s batch includes the following teams:

  • Anvilhead Studios – game development studio
  • DivviMap – mobile drone mapping
  • Gear Supply – subscription box for guitar strings and music goods
  • Liberty – rural transportation logistics
  • LeverageRX – FinTech software platform
  • Fantasy sports platform from California

Ardinger was asked how difficult the selection process was.

“We were very deliberate,” he said. “We didn’t want to fund just to fund.”

NMotion’s cohort includes startups in drone technology, gaming, transportation, and music. NMotion startups receive seed capital, coworking space, and access to a global pool of resources including over 100 mentors, training, and developer and designer talent.

Each startup will use the 90 days of the program starting on April 25 to work with teams and mentors to test and validate the market, build and prototype their solutions, and prepare for a demo day showcase to be held on July 26th in Lincoln.
