It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Nebraska-based Social Assurance

In August the company launched a new version of its web-based platform and this morning, Fiserv, a global provider for financial services technology solutions, announced it has signed a reseller agreement with the Lincoln startup.

The partnership will extend Social Assurance’s social media marketing services to Fiserv’s more than 15,000 clients, which include banks, credit unions and other investment advisors.

“Fiserv’s connection from a technology piece is really critical for us,” Social Assurance co-founder Ben Pankonin (right) told Silicon Prairie News following the announcement. “They really are a core provider, which means they provide the core software for a bank to function. By working with Fiserv it gives us visibility to the data that’s critical for a bank so we can help them make better decisions on social media.”

Social Assurance’s web-based platform allows financial marketers to monitor social media conversation, archive posts or analyze reports for potential compliance issues.

“Social Assurance provides our financial clients with a platform to build meaningful social communities for consumers, while maintaining approvals and workflows that reduce the potential business and monetary risks of non-compliance,” said Nikki Waters, senior vice president of consumer marketing at Fiserv, in a press release.

With the release of its new platform, Pankonin and his team hope to turn social media management into a more collaborative process for organizations. “We’ve seen that change as a maturing process,” Pankonin said. “As we start to embrace social, that gets expanded from one person’s role into the entire organization embracing social media.”

Social Assurance’s platform now allows users to create and assign tasks, delegate responsibilities and collaborate more easily on social media postings.

Since launching the company with co-founder Matt Secoske in 2011, the Nebraska company has continued to grow its team of developers. In 2012, Pankonin was selected as one of 12 Pipeline fellows, which helped Social Assurance receive additional resources as well as mentorship.
