Travefy, the startup out of Lincoln that wants to make group travel easier, has acquired San Francisco competitor Tripeese.
Travefy made the announcement Monday morning.
Tripeese was founded in 2013 by Wharton and Harvard Business School students Rodrigo Boscolo and Matheus Riolfi. Their trip planner was released in mid-2013 via partnerships with Expedia and HomeAway.
Travefy acquired Tripeese for an undisclosed sum and will transition Tripeese accounts onto Travefy’s platform by July 31. Boscolo and Riolfi will continue to support Travefy in an advisory role.

“Travefy and Tripeese share a similar vision and goal of providing tools to solve the coordination headaches of group travel,” said Travefy co-founder and CEO David Chait. “Rodrigo and Matheus have built a strong user base and immense travel expertise. We’re thrilled to welcome them and all Tripeese users to the Travefy family.”
“We’re excited for this next chapter of Tripeese and believe strongly in Travefy’s comprehensive software and vision to change the way groups travel,” said Boscolo.
Through Travefy, users can collaborate on trip itineraries, book travel deals and collect shared expenses. Travefy currently serves more than 8 million activities, restaurants, accommodations and flights, allowing users to build and book their perfect trip itinerary.
Travefy was founded in 2012 and released its full product beta in late 2013.
