reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian has good news about his campaign on behalf of the internet.

“It’s going to be a landslide,” Ohanian said. ‘I think things are going really well for the internet right now.”

He delivered the good news during a gathering Oct. 8 at Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Mo. Ohanian was on hand as part of the Internet 2012 Bus Tour, the campaign-style road trip he and reddit general manager Erik Martin organized to promote awareness of internet freedom.

The tour started in Oct. 3 in Denver, the site of the first presidential debate, and concluded Thursday in Danville, Ky., where the vice presidential debate took place. In between, bus made stops in cities like Lincoln, Des Moines and Iowa City, with each campaign stop providing a unique, local twist on the benefits of the Open Internet.

“We’ve made so much progress,” Ohanian said of people’s collective efforts on behalf of internet freedom, “but there’s still a lot more to be done.”

As part of that effort, Ohanian sat down in Kansas City to visit with four founders to discuss the future of entrepreneurship. Mike Farmer of Leap2Naithan Jones of AgLocalJay Rogers of Local Motors and Jase Wilson of Neighbor.ly took part in a panel discussion that lasted about 80 minutes and included topics like how the internet made each company possible, the moment each founder decided to start his company and what entrepreneurship will look like in 10 years.
