Portland-based designer, Midwest native Aaron Draplin is coming to an Omaha music venue April 16.

Billed by the event organizers, AIGA Nebraska, as a “suckerpunch of a talk,” Draplin plans to speak about the “highs and lows of a ferociously independent existence” and share a “couple tall tales from his so-called career in the cutthroat world of contemporary graphic design.”

Advance tickets to the event cost $10 for non-AIGA members and $5 for members. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Waiting Room. Find more information at nebraska.aiga.org.

This will be Draplin’s third visit to the Silicon Prairie in two months—last month he spoke at OTA Sessions in Sioux Falls, S.D. and Screenland Brand Lab in North Kansas City, Mo.
